Marta's Nova Jumpsuit

Instagram Handle: @_martooth
Pattern: True Bias Nova Jumpsuit
Size Made: 18 top graded to 22 hip
Materials: Textured Cotton Knit, Deep Sienna (sold out, but I recommend our Bamboo French Terry as a great alternative)
Modifications: A lot; Shortened leg by 8" + did not elasticize the ankles, replaced waist elastic with drawstring, omitted bodice facings. Since the fabric I chose is on the heavier side I felt that the bodice would be too thick (and hot) if I doubled it up with the facings. The rest of my mods were done as design choices.

I've been wanting to add an easy to wear, cute, jumpsuit to my wardrobe for awhile now. When we got the True Bias Nova in at the shop my interest was peaked for a few reasons. Since it's written for knits I felt like this would be the perfect comfy "work to chill/pajama one stop shop" outfit, and also I was excited to try out True Bias' new size range. I was not disappointed.

This jumpsuit is such a quick and easy sew, which I love. Next time I make it (there will definitely be a next time) I might size down in both the bodice and the hips because I did end up taking a bit out from the center back and also the legs. The fabric I chose is a little on the thicker side, mostly due to its interesting texture, so I chose to omit the full bodice facing because I felt like it might feel too bulky over a bra or tee. This meant that I needed to create a separate channel for my drawstring. I did this by measuring the waist and cutting a 1.5" strip of my fabric and sewing it to the inside of the bodice at the waist, easy peasy.

I feel very cute and comfortable wearing this jumpsuit out and about and equally cute and comfy just putzing (read; lounging) around the house. I am especially looking forward to wearing this all summer long with cute pair of sandals or sneakers, and also into the fall and winter layered over a long sleeve tee with boots.
