This bag, with its super simple construction, is one of the most popular classes at our shop in Denver. The bag is finished with a Fancy Tiger Leather Bag Handle & Closure Set, which we make right here in house. It features Pendleton 100% wool jaquard, which is available in-store at our Denver location. Other fabrics which would make a great substitute are canvas weight fabric, home dec weight, velveteen, ticking or waxed canvas.
Materials:
1/2 yd or 16" cut of Pendleton Jacquard wool fabric or other mid-heavy weight fabric (*Pendleton is sold according to the pattern repeat so there are two sizes of bags for these two fabric amounts)
1/2 yd coordinating cotton fabric for lining
one Fancy Tiger Leather Bag Handle & Closure Set
7/8 yd craft fuse interfacing or midweight stabilizer
Coordinating sewing thread
Tools:
marking tool (chalk)
a rotary cutter, cutting mat and clear ruler is nice or good old-fashioned fabric scissors and a yardstick
sewing pins
turning tool (a chopstick will work)
iron and ironing board
sewing machine
rubber mallet or hammer (for attaching bag hardware)
