Something Squishy Hat

The talented staff at Fancy Tiger are at it again! Knitter extraordinaire Jennifer just released a squishy-as-can-be hat pattern designed for one of our newest yarns, Woolfolk Tov.

Pattern: Something Squishy This Way Comes by Jennifer Renee
Materials: 1 skein Woolfolk Tov T5 Bark
Size Made: Medium

Woolfolk Tov texture

Tov is a dream to knit with. The high twist 12 ply in combination with 100% Ovis 21 Extra Fine Merino Wool gives it a springy texture that creates great stitch definition. My favorite aspect of the fabric Tov creates is its squishiness.

The pattern was easy to create. A customer brought in a pattern for a seeded rib cowl, the Shitaake Cowl by Andrea Hungerford found in By Hand Making Communities Lookbook No. 1, and said that she wished there was a hat pattern to match. I thought this sounded like an absolutely perfect excuse to purchase a skein of Tov. The seeded rib highlights the yarn’s character perfectly and the hat pattern uses every last yard in a skein.

I’ve been so happy with the finished product that it’s been hard to take it off. The hat can be made to any height for more or less slouch, will look great in all the colors of the Woolfolk rainbow, and (the best part) will only take a few hours to knit up!

    Hi,
Would this be appropriate for a beginner knitter?
