Jaime's Seven Sisters KAL

I've been in a knitting funk since Covid-19 hit and didn't knit for the first month that we had closed the store. Knitting is usually a great stress-reliever so it was weird, but I went with it. When Blue Sky Fibers announced a knitalong for the Seven Sisters Top, it seemed like the perfect, simple mindless project that I needed. Or maybe I just need someone to tell me what to make these days because I've made too many hard decisions lately? Anyway, I made it and I enjoyed knitting!

If you're looking for a quick and easy summer top, this might be the one! It knits up quickly on worsted weight yarn and size 10 needles in the round from the bottom up. The top is then split for working the front and back with some simple arm and neck shaping. The neck and armholes are picked up and a few rows of 2x2 ribbing finishes it.

I love this yarn! Sadly, Blue Sky Fibers is unable to get this yarn produced right now due to Coronavirus so we are out of a lot of colors and it won't be back until mid-July - sorry about the tease! The solids would work as well. This is a 100% cotton plied yarn that is super soft. I love the fabric that the size 10 needle creates - a bit more drapey than if it were knit on a smaller needle. Overall, I'm very happy with this new tee and have already been wearing it around.

I'm grateful to be back to knitting! I'm currently joining the Kelbourne Woolens knialong for the Rift tee... tell me what to make and I'm there!

Love this top and knitting it myself. Did you happen to notice issues with the pattern? For example, mine said to rib the sleeves for 14” which is certainly untrue, same with the neck ribbing. Thanks!
