Nathalie's Shoals Tank

Nathalie is here again, sporting her second knitted linen tank for the summer! Fresh off the needles, her new Shoals Tank is darling with its delicate all-over lace pattern. To tell us more, here's Nathalie!

Pattern: Shoals Tank by Carrie Bostick Hoge
Yarn: Quince and Co Sparrow - five skeins in Port
Size made: 38.5" bust
Modifications: none!

As soon as I'd made the Saco Stripes tank with Quince & Co.'s 100% linen yarn, Sparrow, last summer, I loved it so much I knew I needed another one this year. The linen is already pretty soft in the skein, but after I finished the tank I put it in the washing machine, and it came out a dream! It feels like wearing silk, with a weight that makes it swing around my waist.

I decided to make Shoals because I wanted something that would look a little more sophisticated than my last linen tank. This pattern fit the bill. The lace pattern was simple enough to memorize fairly quickly but complex enough to make the knitting interesting. The shaping on this tank is created using four different needle sizes - by going down a needle size every few inches as you knit up from the bottom, you create a simple A-line shape. The long tank is airy and flowy at the bottom and more structured and dense at the top, making the fit flattering and comfortable.

My two linen tank tops are such summer wardrobe staples that I'm already dreaming of my next one. I just can't get enough of the drape and shine of the linen paired with these flattering and comfortable tank patterns!
