Alex's Fangs Out Cross Stitch

What could be better than a Fancy Tiger cross stitching a fancy tiger?

Pattern:  Lisa Congdon's Fangs Out Cross Stitch
Alterations: Floss color substitution on a small part after running out.

I gotta say, when Jaime and Amber approached me to stitch up this shop sample I was super excited. Lisa Congdon’s striking designs create a powerful image in this medium, and Budgie Goods kits make this craft very accessible to newcomers.

Each kit contains exactly what you need, including fabric, floss, a blunted point needle specifically for cross stitch, a hoop, and most importantly the chart!

Lay flat of an embroidery kit with the backing, hoop, needle and black, blue, pink, red and white embroidery floss.

My only tweak from the kit was when I ran out of one of the colors (pink) I substituted in DMC color 893, which I felt was a dang close match. Can you spot the difference?

The chart also includes instructions for beginners and tips for more experienced stitchers, and my favorite attribute, darkened grid lines for every 5x5 square, making counting the large areas a breeze. The large blocks of color, while not only visually impactful, made for some very meditative stitch time. I also found myself looking forward to adding the small details to the face as a change of pace from the vast oceans of pink, black, and white. Fangs Out, friends!

    Hi
Am working on this tiger and was wondering if I should colour in the background. Maybe blue? Or Beige?

    Also
Was thinking of leaving the teeth out so not so scary for a small child. Any thoughts??

    Thanks
    Karen
