Simcoe Headband from Good Night, Day

It should be obvious by now how much I love the Good Night, Day book. I think my new goal is just to make every pattern Tara-Lynn Morrison has. The knits are so quick and easy it's hard not to make them all at once! I've been really into cables lately and the Simcoe headband seemed like a great project to try with a new (to me) yarn.

I've always loved the look and feel of any Woolfolk yarn; however, Hygge was always my number one due to its plush feel and beautiful colors. When I saw the Simcoe headband was a one skein wonder for a super bulky yarn I knew it had to be Hygge.

This yarn did not disappoint. It is so amazing to work with! I love how soft and warm it is. It's like knitting little merino clouds! "Hygge" is actually a Danish term which translates to a feeling of coziness and personal well-being while enjoying life in the present moment. As a blend of merino, alpaca, and silk, this yarn has definitely earned its name. I would love to have a big oversized cardigan out of it (like the Kile pattern). It would be perfect for projects with a little drape!

I really enjoyed knitting this headband. I finished it in only one day and the cable pattern was easy to memorize! It's been a little too warm for me to wear the headband recently, but I'm excited for all the future winter mornings I'll be able to pull this out. If you are new to cables or just want an easy weekend project, I would highly recommend this pattern. It's a great way to try out that new yarn you've been eyeing!
