Jaime's Linen Brin

Summer is for sweaters! I love knitting linen tees in the summer time. This year, I cast on a new tee, and it flew off the needles. Here is my bright and cheery Brin!hand knit brin sweater in linen cottonPattern: Brin by Allison Jane
Yarn: Kestrel by Quince and CO. in Rosehip (in store only, good substitutions include WATG Tina Tape and WATG New Wave)
Size Made: 45 1/4" (shown with 10" positive ease)
Modifications: nonedetail of stitching on brinThis pattern features some fun and interesting knit and purl details at the shoulders and sides and an interesting top-down construction that starts with the shoulder panels. It was the perfect balance of mindless knitting mixed with some simple stitch patterns and short row shaping... in short, great for summer travel or pool hangs.back view of brin hand knit sweater
I love Kestrel Organic Linen yarn. I've made a few summer tees out of this yarn over the years and they always get a lot of wear. The yarn knits up quickly (this tee took 3 weeks!), and it softens with washing. Kestrel will stretch out quite a bit with the weight of the garment, but guess what?? You just throw it in the washer and dryer, and it will shrink back to the original size.arm detail of brin handknit linen sweaterThis pattern features and easy, oversized fit. I chose to make the second size which gives me 10" of positive ease. I love my poppy, bright Brin and am excited to wear this over the summer and into the fall.full shot of linen brin handknit sweater
